Debbineek Jenkins is a Texas based artist who graduated from East Texas A&M Commerce University in 2026. Earning a BFA in studio arts with a concentration in painting, she works in painting media such as oil and acrylic and also produces work in ceramics. She also explores different media of painting by incorporating materials such as wood burning, crushed leaves and spray paint which often explores themes of identity, visibility, permanence, and transformation. Often focusing on portraits as a symbol of strength, history, and personal narrative. Through layered surfaces and experimental processes, Jenkins investigates the tension between fragility and resilience. . She is interested in how material choices can carry emotional weight. Her practice reflects a balance between technical skill and intuitive exploration, creating work that feels both grounded and evolving.
