-Bio- Emma Camp attended Lehigh University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Neuroscience and a Studio Art Minor. While at Lehigh, she was involved in several research labs exploring the link between neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to learn and change) and creativity. Now in the first year of her MFA at Texas Woman’s University, her work features a range of mediums, from painting to sculpture, and she hopes to continue to explore interdisciplinary art. -Artist Statement- Biology encompasses so many beautifully varied and almost miracle-like intricacies that often go misunderstood or unrecognized due to their microscopic nature. I have always been fascinated with such intricacies and the profound complexity of our biological systems and framework. I create pieces that convey extraordinarily complicated and detailed scientific principles and concepts. In my mind's eye, biology is truly and uniquely beautiful. It is everywhere our naked eyes can see - and not see. I find, when you pay attention to it, it can enrich your appreciation for life.
