About
A step upward.
UPWARD is an online gallery with juried exhibitions for artists at every stage. Whether you studied for years or taught yourself, you enter with the same thing: your work. We give it a good look and a place where people can find it.

Every medium, every genre, every level
Just starting
A first exhibition can open the door.
Your first diploma, your first public page, and your first line on a CV all begin with one entry. The jury reads each piece on its own merits: technique, medium, design, and the impression it leaves. A strong piece stands in the same gallery as every other strong piece, and the climb starts from there.
Years of practice
Another credential for your portfolio.
A place in an UPWARD exhibition adds a fresh, verifiable credential to your portfolio. Each diploma carries a code that a gallery, a collector, or a curator can check on our site. A first-place interview adds your own words to the record.
- A page for your work
- Every published work joins your artist page, and every exhibition stays in the gallery archive, so your work can be found long after a call has closed.
- Something to point to
- A diploma, a result, and a link give you a clear line to share when you write to a gallery, a collector, or your own followers.
- Your story in your voice
- First-place winners are interviewed on the site, and the interviews live on in the magazine archive alongside UPWARD Quarterly and the studio visits.
- An audience that arrives
- Winners and galleries are announced in our news, so visitors who come for one artist meet the next.
Special Edition
22 pages. One artist. Prepared by us, free.
The 1st place winner of each exhibition, when there is a body of work to show, is offered a Special Edition: a printed publication devoted to a single artist. Our team prepares it for print at no charge. It is a book-like object you can hold, give, and mail.
Send it to galleries, curators, and art dealers. Hand it out at fairs and at your own shows. Leave it with friends, family, and colleagues. The photographs remain yours, and you approve the layout before it goes to print.
