Terms of use

Updated 30 October 2026

Who we are

The site upwardgallery.com is operated by an individual entrepreneur registered in Georgia (ID number 304649860), trading as UPWARD gallery (“we”). These Terms of use are the agreement for the site, an account, an exhibition entry, and the email we send about that entry. The Privacy policy explains personal data. The Cookie notice explains the cookies the site sets.

An exhibition may publish its own official rules. If those rules and these Terms disagree about eligibility, dates, or the fee for that exhibition, the exhibition rules apply to that entry.

Who may join

Open an account only if you are at least 18 and old enough to make a contract where you live. The site is in English. A call may limit who can enter, including by country of residence. Read that call’s rules before you pay a fee.

Your account

You are responsible for the email and password, or for the Google account you use to sign in, and for what happens under the account. Write to [email protected] if you think someone else is using it.

You can delete the account from the studio. Deletion removes the profile and unpublished works. A work already published in an exhibition record, a diploma, or the magazine may remain as part of that record, with the name it was published under.

Your work

You keep the copyright in work you upload. You confirm that you made it or have the rights to enter it, that entering it does not infringe anyone else’s rights, and that the work is lawful to publish. You give us a non-exclusive license to host the file, to show it on the site when the entry is published, to reproduce it in that exhibition’s gallery, diploma, and magazine, and to use it, with your name, to announce that exhibition. We do not take ownership of the work, and this site does not sell the work for you.

We may refuse or remove a work, or close an account, when it breaks these Terms or an exhibition’s rules.

Fees

Some exhibitions charge an entry fee. The fee is for review of that entry. PayPal processes the payment. We do not store your card number. The amount and currency are shown before you pay. Once the fee is paid, review begins, and the fee is not refunded, except where a mandatory consumer law where you live requires a refund. A jury result is a curatorial decision. An exhibition is not a lottery or a game of chance.

Using the site

Do not:

  • break, overload, or probe the site, or scrape it in bulk;
  • sign in as someone else, or open an account for someone else without their authority;
  • upload malware, or use the site to send spam;
  • upload work that is unlawful, including sexual content involving anyone under 18.

Copyright notices

If you believe a page infringes a copyright you own, email [email protected] with the page address, a description of the work, and a way to reach you. We will review the notice and may remove the file while we do.

Other services

PayPal, Google, and Cloudflare are separate services. Their terms apply when you use them. A link from this site is not an endorsement of the page it opens.

Liability

The site is provided as it is. We do not promise a particular jury outcome, publication, or sale. Where the law allows a limit, our total liability arising out of the site in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. The limit does not apply where the law where you live forbids it, including a mandatory consumer guarantee. These Terms do not take away a right that cannot legally be waived.

Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Georgia. The courts of Georgia may hear a dispute, except where a mandatory rule where you live lets you bring the claim in your own country. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or Australia, you keep the mandatory consumer protections of that place.

Changes

We post changes on this page and change the date at the top. Continued use after the new date is acceptance of the updated Terms for that later use. An entry already paid for stays under the Terms and the exhibition rules as they stood when you paid.
